Director, Nursing

Business Operations - Woburn, MA - Full Time

Job Summary:   

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Nursing is involved in the daily operation of the business and the organization's strategic direction and financial growth. The position is responsible for the oversight, support, and direction of direct care staff. The DON is also responsible for overall compliance with State and Federal guidelines and standards of practice.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures for direct care staff  
  • Primarily responsible for the non-medical home care service delivery to clients, ensuring the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction 
  • Update staff on new/changed regulations and review records/documentation to ensure compliance with Federal, State Regulations and contract requirements  
  • Coach staff and recommend in-service education programs and ensure adherence to internal policies/standards. 
  • Promote quality and participate in care coordination to ensure proper communication between caregivers, clients, and referral sources  
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quarterly supervision visits, skill checks and annual performances review of home care aides in compliance with Federal/State Regulations and contract requirements  
  • Ensures start of care and annual Home Health Aide care plans are completed in a timely manner 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills who can do field visits if necessary. 
  • Minimum of two years in a home health or personal care management role 
  • Multi-site leadership experience desired 
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Home Health agency regulations/ conditions of participation and compliance standards and regulations 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and language skills.  
  • A proactive, customer service orientation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stake - holders.  
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, take initiative without direct supervision, set priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills  
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation 
Physical Demands:  
  • Must remain in stationary position for extended periods of time at desk or computer 
  • Requires occasionally standing, sitting, walking; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; hearing; talking
